No regret dating a married man – Tatiana

For Angolan Tatiana Durao whose romance with Richard had created controversy during the Big Brother Africa reality show, there is nothing wrong dating a married man.

She said: “Being inside the house for three months and being able to deal with different people was no easy task, and we are all human beings. In this kind of situation, anything can happen. For me to live inside the house and play the game I needed to forget or put aside my outside life.The house was a new-world for me. I took this decision and I went for it. That’s the reason I did what I did.”

Tatiana stressed further: “I didn’t choose to fall in love with Richard. I didn’t. You can see it wasn’t like this from the beginning. I am a woman, a very sensitive woman. When you find a man so sweet, so kind and so loving like Richard – and yes – he was so charming because what he did for me inside the house was amazing.

He bought me some things. He was able to go into the diary room and tell Big Brother to put flowers in his shopping list, which he gave me. That was something big. From that day, I loved Richard the more.

My sister said my fiancé is not okay. But life goes on.

Plans and strategies
I went into the house not with an idea on how I was going to play the game. But I promised that I was going to be myself. And that was the real me. I wasn’t playing any game.

Lessons learned in the house
I discovered some parts of me that I didn’t know. I never knew I am very patient and tolerant. I have always told Richard that I have never met a guy like him. He was simply driving me crazy. This is what I learned and I am very proud of myself. Another thing I learned in the house is that I am stronger than I was before.

Vodka and misdemeanors
That day, we decided to get a bit crazy. We wanted to fish and get high. Every time I drank, I was always sober. But Richard was always high and crazy. So, that morning, Richard said ‘Tatiana, I want to see you drunk. Tonight, you will be drunk and I will give you shots.’ I am like ‘ah, okay’.

Richard asked me to take a shot of vodka. And I hate vodka, I don ‘t like vodka. But I was taking it because it was a game. So we were drinking. Yes, we got very high and the only thing I remember was that there was so much fun. The last thing that happened was that we ended up arguing, laughing, crying and lying on the floor. And that was it.

No regrets
Never, I didn’t regret anything I did in the house.
